Hey Guys! Here's a character design I did on a story I have been developing. But I'm gonna need some of your guys' feedback or opinions. He's not finished yet, I still need to add some more bells and whistles on him but you guys get the jists. I need an opinion mainly on his tattoo design. When doing research I found that some tribes (in the Philippines of course haha) sometimes painted their bodies full of tattoos. So the idea is that the tattoo represents a sort of "armor" on their body. What do you guys think? I can mix and match tattoos also if you like haha.

"TEEN" Justice League

Kind of a no-brainer for me. Couldn't resist. My re-imagining of the "Superfriends" ....

A Teen Justice League. 3 young, rookie heroes, Superman, The Batman, and WonderWoman, have come together to make the world a better place while balancing school, teenage angst, and raging hormones. We've got:

Superman: The most powerful being on the planet, but is he just shy, awkward dork Clark Kent underneath the cape?

The Batman: Impulsive, untrusting, somewhat of a loner. Bruce Wayne is just starting out as The Batman and is realizing he's got a lot to learn.

WonderWoman: Princess Diana from Paradise Island... Optimistic, trusting, but naive to the way's of "man's world." She'll soon discover's that the rest of the world is no paradise.


Was originally trying to do a ROBOTECH redesign, but strayed from it and came up with this.... Hope you like.

Captain N UPGRADE

Hey Guys! I don't know which of you remember this show, but if you do, remember when you watched this show and a new nintendo would come out or a new accessory, and then you would think to yourself "what if Captain N had that". Well here he is ready to take on Video Land with some tasty upgrades. A larger Zapper, Superscope (cannon), POWERGLOVE, DS belt buckle and the Wii nunchuck to take on the villians of Video Land.

G.I.JOE 25th Anniversary Storm Shadow Model

Here is a model I am currently working on, Cobra Storm Shadow. I was inspired by the new 25th Anniversary G.I.JOE action figures that were released this year. I loved the cartoon back in the 80's and of course the action figures. This is my tribute to the great G.I.JOE series and toys. It is a work in progress. I am done with the base model and currently working on on UV mapping. I plan on taking it into mudbox for the detailing and of course texture.

Greetings all... Hope you had a fun & safe Happy Halloween. Nice to see a wide range of stuff from silly to creepy, traditional & 3D during our Haunted post. Great job, and the stuff continues to impress and inspire. With that said, we're going in a different direction. We're taking it back - waaay back to Littlekidville and a nod to Mr. Napoleon Dynamite himself. This round's Creation Exercises are:

1) HYBRIDS: Merge any two, three, four... creatures/things/animal/vegetable/mineral you want and create a hybrid of some sort. Leaving it wide open (as usual, ha!) for you to create some sort of hybrid be it man, machine, or both. Let your imagination go wild....

2) CARTOON! CARTOON! Remember that show/shows you used to race home to watch everyday after school? This is your chance to pay homage/tribute to those friends of ours from the old days. Take any Cartoon show you want and Re-Imagine or Re-Visit them in whatever form you want. Update 'em or give them the Star treatment anything goes.

That's it. Can't wait to see what develops. Have fun guys & gals...

Here is a horror-esque piece based on a vampire dream I had as a young boy.

Cue the soundtrack, its BAY HUNCH!

The hunch decided to leave the tower and head to California. One day at the beach, he saw a lady caught in a rip-tide. He immediately jumped in the water to save her, and as it turned out, his hump was rather boyant! He saw his true calling, and since that day, he's devoted his life to helping people enjoy their time in the water. He teamed up with Hasselhof and crew, as they make him feel less disfigured with their un-natural bumps and bulges.

This is suppose to be Michael Jackson in werewolf form from the "Thriller" video. Man, that video was badass. It was made in 1982. That was when I was born.

Its that time of year again, everyone's favorite holiday: when ghouls & ghosts come out and raise hell and make the world a frighful place, its HALLOWEEN! So for the next three weeks, pull out your eye of newt, breath of toad, & skin of bat to conjure up some hair-raising creations:

1. Design, Re-design, or Create a New "Classic Movie/Fiction Monster." Put your spin on a favorite monster, or one that had you shivering in your boots as a little kid, and go to town on it. And yup, that last one was intended as an oxymoron, create a "NEW" classic.

2. Design a Haunted Mansion, Castle, Car or whatever. Anything goes, as you get to create the spookiest or most ridiculous haunted inanimate object ever.

This is my little Red Riding Hood, I'm trying a different style this time, and it really enjoy it, it's not too overdone and I may even keep drawing this character to see what it would look like it if was animated.

Well, my current project has become more of a lesson in color and lighting instead of it's intended environment modeling challenge. If it looks familiar it's because I'm using Lauren Reeser's donut shop exercise for concept (with her consent, of course!). I've gotta put this on hold for a bit while I move, so I thought I'd get some fresh eyes to help me contemplate my next move. The textures are still in an early pass, so any feedback concerning the lighting and mood would be absoludicrously marvelous.

07: COLORS & FUNNY FACES!

Lucky #7. Hi guys, we're at our 7 round of topics and things are still looking great. Really glad to see the contributions from you guys. I think these next two exercises should be pretty fun, so if there's nothing else here are the topics for the next 3 weeks (ends Oct. 12):

1) Now in TECHNICOLOR!
Pick a color, any color, and design a character or prop based on your choice. Use one color as your basic motif, and build off of that and see where it goes. Feel free to use other colors in the design, but the character or prop should reflect just one.

2) CARICATURES...
Draw, paint, animate, or 3D model a caricature of any one you want: living or dead, someone famous or a close friend. If its someone we may not be familiar with, include a pic!

JUST A LEAGUE...

When I think of flight I associated with fear or fantasy. Actually being on a plane (which I did a lot of last week) causes anxiety in me. I also have the occasional dream of having the power of flight in the way the superheroes in my comics do. I love those dreams. Sometimes I have a lot of control over my maneuvering, other times I'm just learning. In this image I tried to depict flight as a metaphor for power, strength, & wonder. Beyond that, this is my riff at an Alex Ross or Bruce Timm interpretation of superheroes in flight. It was fun, it was quick. Happy to be posting again.

Weapon Design

Here is a weapon design I have been modeling in Maya. I wanted the main weapon to have multiple parts that could also be used as weapons on their own, if the main weapon no longer had ammo. The parts of the weapon are not only functional on their own but also work together as a whole. Here are some variations with the different pieces attatched. The gun consists of a double chamber revolver with blade end handle. It also has a sword up above and a knife below to be used for slicing. The knife below can also be used for hand support. They can each be removed and used seperately as well. The weapon also has a laser site and a telescope sight. It is a work in progress. I have to fix some geometry, do the uv layout and then on to texturing.

Once used for cutting down trees for a local paper mill is now a fined tuned killing machine. A favorite of animators all over.
